The Ufloat System is a versatile modularised deep-water, 2 500m, subsea buoyancy system available for hire.
The system includes a number of buoys sizes that individually, or when combined to assemblies, or when interconnected provides adjustable buoyancy ranging from 10 kg to 1 000 kg or more. The buoys design and features allow it to be configured to suit a large number of applications, geometries, buoyancy distribution, and attachment arrangement.
The Ufloat System modularised design maximise the availability of various size buoyancy, as the units can be quickly disassembled and re-assembled into a different size buoyancy unit.
The buoys dry weight to buoyancy ratio is 1 : 1.25 (i.e. a 200 kg buoy gives 250 kg buoyancy).
Rental
The Ufloat System includes nine standard single units, either Type A or B.
Type A: Five different sizes, 0.54 m wide and 0.3 m high. Lengths varies from 0.45 m to 1.7 m. Buoyancy varies from 9.2 kg to 46 kg.
Type B: Four different sizes, 0.85 m wide and 0.3 m high. Lengths varies from 0.8m to 1.7m. Buoyancy varies from 36.8 kg to 92 kg.
The smallest buoys includes 4 off webbing loops for attachment to other units, or subsea equipment. The larger ones includes 6 off webbing loops. Using the loops any one of the single unit buoys / buoy types can be interconnected in any direction in order to form assemblies with various geometry and buoyancy including elongated buoyancy strings or buoyancy blankets
Dimension, Buoyancy and Weights: See Ufloat System Datasheet.
Rental
The Ufloat System includes nine standard combined units, either Type C, D or E.
Type C: Three different sizes, 0.85 m wide and 0.55 m high. Lengths varies from 1.1 m to 1.7 m. Buoyancy varies from 82.8 kg to 138 kg.
Type D: Three different sizes, 0.85 m wide and 0.60 m high. Lengths varies from 1.1 m to 1.7 m. Buoyancy varies from 110.4 kg to 184 kg.
Type E: Three different sizes, 0.85 m wide and 0.85 m high. Lengths varies from 1.1 m to 1.7 m. Buoyancy varies from 138 kg to 230 kg.
The combined units utilises the webbing loops integrated in the single units buoys when they are combined. Also using these loops any one of the combined units buoys / buoy types can be interconnected in any direction in order to form assemblies with various geometry and buoyancy.
Dimension, Buoyancy and Weights: See Ufloat System Datasheet.
Rental
The Ufloat System includes a 250 Kg buoyancy unit, Ufloat Type M.
This unit is different from the other Ufloat units. It includes a centre lifting rope with thimbles each end.The certified lifting capacity is 4 Mt.
The buoy includes 4 off Dynema rope loops for attachment to other units, or to subsea equipment. These buoys can also be interconnected to each other sideways (secured with cargo straps through loops) or longitudinally (with 8.5t shackles).
Dimensions: Dia. 0.75m, Length 1.8m.
Dry Weight / Buoyancy: 200 kg/ 250 kg.
Depth Rating: 2 500m.
Optional
Rigging and lashing equipment can be provided loose or attached to pre-arrange buoy assembles.
Lifting and/or Attachment to subsea equipment (arrangement to be advised):
Interconnection of buoys (arrangement to be advised):
Optional
A Subsea buoyancy deployment and / or recovery arrangement is available for the Ufloat buoys (and other buoys). The arrangement is based on using Ubags with sufficient weight to deploy and / or recover subsea buoyancy.
The Ubags for buoyancy deployment and / or retrieval are available in various sizes and weights (Ubag Type A3). These Ubags includes attachment points for shackles, slings and ROV hooks.
I.e. the deployment arrangement includes:
As the Ubag is filled with sand it is ‘soft’, in case of contact the risk for damaging other equipment is reduced compared with a steel DMA.
See Ubag System for further information.
